ENTERTAINMENT / My Evening Spent at the 3rd Annual AACTA Awards

The 3rd annual AACTA Awards and my first red carpet where I wasn’t behind the lens – too excited! I had so much fun getting all dressed up with the help of resident makeup extraordinaire Grant Power from Giorgio Armani and L’Oreal Professionnel hair genius Brad Ngata from Brad Ngata Hair.

Dressed in Missguided, sporting some banging Mimco neckware and carrying my AWESOME Jordana clutch from Jessica Bratich, I moved through the sea of guests on the carpet which included Marta Dusseldorp, Sam Worthington, Lara Bingle, Rove McManus, Tasma Walton, Jackie Weaver, WA beauty Courtney Eaton (the list goes on) and headed to the most IMPORTANT destination of the evening – the reception area where overflowing champagne and canapes were being served. I’m serious, I was soooo hungry after having run around all day trying to beautify myself that nothing was coming between me and those tiny savoury puffs. Not even the packed elbow to elbow room or Tim Robards (The Bachelor), a dodge and duck was required but I manoeuvred (rather elegantly I might add) around this giant and the surrounding obstacle course to plant myself in the most food populated section. Mission accomplished and slightly chuffed at completing the task without loosing a shoe, my camera, half my dress or even an eye :)

The Awards proved to be an entertaining evening with stumbles (uhem Sam Worthington), dance and musical numbers, millions of balloons, witty quips, speeches that all went over their 30 second allocations and a stellar line up of Australian talent.

I’ve put together a photo diary of my day to give you a bit of an inside perspective of the evening:
