We are well and truly into the Festival Season with Southbound debuting 2014 on 3rd Jan, Big Day Out kicking off it’s Aussie leg on the Gold Coast mid Jan and upcoming festivals such as Future Music, Laneway Festival, Soundwave, West Coast Blues and Roots, penned into every music lovers diary. Whatever your flavour, Summer is the season for outdoors, music, good vibes and fashionable creativity.
Festivals to me are a time for self expression (and dependant on the festival) fashion experimentation, however my number one rule is comfort. I’ve done it before, made the mistake of wearing something I loved, only to end up hating it when it’s riding up when I dance, causing blisters when I walk or is so tight it’s crushing my bladder and I end up spending half the day in the bathroom line.
These days my festival/summer look has evolved into more of a bohemian style with flowing maxis, denim cuts offs (not so short they look like denim nappies – remember how much I love the riding up aspect…), loose tanks, lots of jewellery, and comfy sandals or boots.
Along with online fashion go-to Missguided, I’m celebrating the season with some of my favourite 2014 festival styles/outfits including one particularly reserved for events such as bucket list entrant Burning Man – I’m sure you can guess which one:
Flatforms: Aldo Shoes
Boots: Tony Bianco
Fringed Bikini Top: Missguided
Sunnies: Le Specs
Pants: Living Doll (back catalogue)
Pack my things I’m off to Coachella folks!
